User's notes

Delighted to see that the Dotty pair are continuing to check out the hollow, with allofeeding, mating, hollow exploration and displaying. On this particular evening, they flew to the hollow before visiting the dam to drink. I'd heard them call, and waited nearby, but out of sight of, the dam. By the time I thought to check the hollow bearing tree, the pair would have been there for around 10+ minutes. However, I then witnessed Dotty entering the hollow twice - first for a short time, then up to her mate for allofeeding (up to six feeds), then back to the hollow for three minutes. She then flew up to rest on a branch slightly below her mate. Her mate suddenly flipped upside down (very gang-gang-like). He fanned out his tail, displaying every panel of brilliant scarlet, with his wings spread wide, then closing, then wide, and his head bobbing in and out - I assume close to her head. He tipped back upright, then down again, repeating the display in what seemed to be a playful manner. They then both glided off to the dam, before disappearing to their unknown roost. (location approx for nest security reasons - even though I understand the location is obscured)
