When I posted this I did not realise that it was not easy to identify Australian caterpillars (I grew up in England, where this was not normally an issue). These photographs were incidental to my primary object, which was photographing the plant. Given this, I suggest that I delete the sighting (I would, of course, retain the original photographs).

The caterpillar is similar to Chlenias (genus) species of the family Geometridae.

The pale turquoise head and red true legs are characters only of several species of Chlenias in my experience. Do you have a dorsal view? What is the plant??

The photos posted are all I have. The caterpillar was on a native currant (Leptomeria acida)
