User's notes

I am assuming (probably incorrectly) that these are sand wasps. I came across two on the ground, fighting I think, but when one eventually flew away the other started scratching in the dirt. They were both approximately 1 inch in length and around 3 mms at their widest. Essentially all black except for yellow pincers and red legs. Both wasps looked the same.
