A Bolete fungi :-
Fruit body:- 3.5 cm broad convex, dry, sub tomentose, grey margin paler grey
Flesh:- white, no discolouring on injury
Hymenophore:- tubulose, depressed
Tubes:- yellow, no discolouring on injury
Stipe:- 3.5 cm long with small central hollow, white interior becoming grey over time after disecting, exterior covered in brown squamules
Do you realise that Leccinum is not native to Australia. The only species recorded here (as per Roy Halling and current accepted knowledge as per 28th June 2019) are exotics imported in association with horticultural plantings (Betula, Quercus) as is the case in N.Z.. Do you therefore list your sighting as exotic, plus the other listings, or are you sure that the genus sighted is correct?
